Giorgina, founder and creative director, established Villea Vara having spent a lifetime searching for unique jackets and special pieces alongside forever enhancing existing clothes.

Villea Vara was born out of a love of timeless, unique pieces with a little something extra. Following time spent in Rajasthan, witnessing first-hand the immense talent and time-honoured techniques eponymous with India, Giorgina has transformed her love of creating her own outfits into a brand that would appeal to many more women than just herself. With friends and family in all four corners of the world and an innate love of travel combined with a passion for design, Villea Vara seemed like a natural amalgamation of all things close to her heart. 

Understanding how, and why, women dress has been a constant source of inspiration and remains a cornerstone of Villea Vara. This, combined with a fascination for traditional embroideries, embellishments and beautiful fabrications translated into a brand that nods to the past but serves the woman of today.

Giorgina’s love of fashion came to her from as early as she can remember, almost ripping off the curtains at home and wrapping them around her to create something no one else had. This early love of fashion was followed by time working in interior design (dreaming of how much better her client’s headboard fabric would be as a tailored coat!).  A collection of her own was always on the cards...

However, it was her mother’s innate style that she has truly learned from.  Having had her own business, a husband, three children, five grandchildren and a bustling social life, there was little time to pre-plan outfits, yet she always managed to curate the most elegant and harmonious looks.  From draping necklaces around a white shirt and tailored jacket, to throwing on a cashmere jumper and flowing silk skirt, to pulling off double denim when it had only just gone out of fashion.

Giorgina has taken inspiration from her mother, noting that great style comes to us when we know what suits us, gives us comfort and subsequent confidence.
